Israel Day 8

Sunrise on Day 8 - last full day in Israel.
(Day 9 consisted traveling to the airport)

Can you guess...? It's St Peter's Monastery  : )

The inside of the church was really pretty and had pictures up in each alcove

I love the Holy Spirit symbol at the front of the church, which is below

A roadside tomb, a great example of the round stone that would be rolled over the entrance and the entrance hole itself

A throne tree whose branches would have been used to make the crown for Jesus's crown when he was placed on the cross.

Mt Carmel

These were beautiful flowers

A statue in the monastery garden

Tel Megiddo

Down to the water source area

The tunnel

Lunch

An Aquaduct... it consists of 2 different ones melded together. The second was built onto the first one

The Roman statues were built with heads that could be removed... that way when there was a new emperor, the new head would be carved and placed on the body

An amphitheater

Sitting on the steps

One of the arches into the amphitheater

Jaffa

Tel Aviv is in the background

The spot where Israel declared their Independence

The shore side in Tel Aviv

Waves on the rocks... so pretty

The clouds rolling in

I found a chameleon

We got to visit Max Brenner, which is a chocolate restaurant. They have lots of different chocolate desserts & drinks as well as some basic food items like sandwiches, etc. None of us wanted any amount of chocolate the next day!

My chocolate dish with fruit on the right top corner

Leigh & Walter with Leigh's dessert

Blair and his milkshake

Rachel had hot chocolate... even she was chocolated out

God bless,
HK

Israel Day 7

Israel countryside... Love the hills in the background

The Cana Catholic Wedding Church.

A cross I liked across the street

Mary's Church

The walkway from the church to where Mary's spring is at

You can't really tell, but down at the bottom is Mary's spring

The Church of Transfiguration, located on Mt Tabor.

It was Palm Sunday, so I loved seeing the Palm branches around the church

The inside of the church... isn't it beautiful?

The painting inside

The City of Nazareth in the background

The Church of Annunciation

The front door depicted many different scenes... you can see Jesus on the cross with Mary below him, Joseph & Mary on the donkey, etc.

This church had different countries from all around the world send their vision of Mary. This one below is the one from the USA... it's made out of one of the Nasa shuttles.

I thought this one was beautiful

I loved this stained glass window

By the Jordan River where we got baptized. The had this scripture written in different languages

Chappy  :)  Our chaplin who was on the trip with us.

Two of my friends:  Rachel & Leigh

Karter had his infant baptism done in the Jordan river. He def did not like getting wet & cold. Here he's wearing his baptismal cross with his mother, Paula
